I'm seeing this kind of sensationalism far too often!
To explain, this is only a bill, not that it isn't enough to make us vomit, because it is, but before it would become a law, the Massachusetts State Senate must pass the same exact bill.
Keys for any bill to become law is first, both houses must agree on the same exact wording and second, the governor has to agree and sign.
If the governor doesn't agree, then the legislature can override the governor's veto.

However, I do think a lot of this is deliberate, that it, done to expose them to the public and therefore, it is not to get us too upset.
