So what does that make America?
The land of the TRUE Israelites!!
Esau hated Jacob and always sought to kill him.
That enmity didn't stop.
Who said it stopped?
When Jacob returned to the land given to his descendants Esau sent many men and supplies out to help Jacob and his entourage. He feared Esau because he had fooled him and stolen his birthright. Even in the womb Jacob grabbed his heel to hold him back so he could be firstborn. Jacob was deceptive, clever, while Esau is portrayed as easily fooled. Their relationship was complex and consequential.
Jacob feared Esau because Esau was angry about his lost blessing, as you say, and was determined to kill Jacob.
Esau did meet Jacob at one point after his fervor to murder his brother momentarilly subsided. However, one of Esau's sons did make an attempt on Jacob's life, per the book of Jasher, and there was strife later on.
The two brothers brought gifts for each other in that more peaceful meeting you refer to.
Jacob did work a manner of deception but on his father only, as Esau had already sold Jacob his birthright long before Isaac was on his deathbed giving out blessings.
