This P320 problem may have something to do with the admission that "the weapon is fully cocked and ready to fire." The safety of the striker design is compromised by pulling the hammer back, as in Alec Baldwin. Even on a single-action revolver, there's no reason to have the firing pin under tension when the gun is not being used, enabling any touching of the trigger or a single failure of something in the firing mechanism to cause the hammer to drop.
