My Grampa was a Captain in the Army in WW2.

His whole life he was TERRIFIED of heights.
He couldn't breathe in tall buildings,
go on a Ferris Wheel, etc.
So what was one of his jobs in the war?
Counting Paratroopers jumping out of planes
over Germany & Europe.
He'd stand there in the open door of the plane
looking down at the soldiers jumping,
& time it for them
gesturing with his arm & yelling "Go!... Go!... Go!..."

I said, "Gramps, how come you weren't scared?"
