The police postponed the Vrbětice case. After almost ten years, the case of the explosion of ammunition warehouses near the village of Vrbětice in Zlín is over. Two Czechs lost their lives in 2014. Demining has been going on for decades. Now, the detectives of the National Headquarters against Organized Crime have reportedly finished their "work".
They postponed the case because the extradition of the perpetrators, who according to investigators are GRU agents, is unlikely.

Both destroyed Vrbětice warehouses were located in VTÚ, leased by the Ostrava-based arms company Imex Group. Total of 6 buildings were leased on site, in which the company stored ammunition, weapons and other goods. Owner Petr Bernatík Jr., also executive director and, together with his father, also worked in several other armaments companies.
In a letter dated 3 October 2014, Imex’s CEO Petr Bernatik wrote to EMCO’s chairman, Emilian Gebrev, to complain that EMCO had not yet taken possession of the munitions the company had previously purchased from the Czech arms trader. It requested payment of overdue storage fees, and urged EMCO to repatriate its stock from the depots by 15 October 2014.
