Today (like everyday) is a good time to stock up for emergencies. Up to 30 days necessities if you can.
Canned & dry food (doesn't have to be expensive, think rice & beans). Bottled water, +perhaps a camping water filter. Meds. Pet food. Whatever you think you need to be comfortable. Rotate your stocks.
Fill BBQ tanks to cook & boil. Perhaps get a generator +heavy extension cords (for fridge/freezer, always run outdoors) +spare fuel for that and for your vehicle safely stored. KEEP GAS TANKS FULL. Why not some camping gear? Flashlights/batteries (cheap solar landscape lights work in a pinch). Your preferred Self-Defense handy & perhaps get a CB or HAM radio (CBs at your local truck stop for ~$300 complete). Download Signal App. HAVE A PLAN for loved ones to gather in case comms go down. Know where loved ones are at all times. Protect kids & elderly.
If you are Blessed to have extra means, prepare to help others, too. Combine resources with people you trust.
BE PREPARED, NOT SCARED.
