One interesting factor is that our American precious metals mineral deposits can likely be used to back our Treasury Dollars even while the minerals still remain in the ground. In mining, for example, exploration drilling can determine "Proven Reserves" via quantitative analysis of core sample data obtained by core drilling areas on a tight grid system. If that mineral is found and thus "Proven", then that results in an indisputable assessed value "in the ground" that's totally bankable. Drilling is an internationally accepted method for quantitatively defining size & value of mineral deposits. So Gold & Silver IN THE GROUND as PROVEN RESERVES absolutely could also back a new debt-free national currency without even being mined (knowing it could be mined). Those mineral properties/deposits could be simply contracted over to Treasury. The best part...Gold & Silver "in the ground" is hard to steal, as it has to be mined & processed first.
