On March 21st the U.S. Congress will award
the Congressional Gold Medal
to THE 23RD HEADQUARTERS SPECIAL TROOPS
& THE 3133RD SIGNAL SERVICE COMPANY
to recognize the extraordinary service of these unsung heroes..
GHOST ARMY Soldiers, recruited from Art Schools,
Advertising Agencies & Technical professions,
brought a unique blend of creativity & technical mastery
to the battlefield.
They utilized inflatable tanks, soundtracks
& false radio transmissions
to CREATE ELABORATE ILLUSIONS of sizeable American Forces
confounding the enemy & safeguarding Allied troops.
For over 50-years their activities remained classified..
Today the United States expresses eternal gratitude
to THE GHOST ARMY
whose innovative tactics saved lives
& helped defeat the Axis powers.
May their legacy endure reminding us that heroes,
whether seen or UNSEEN shape the course of history 🇺🇸🪖🐸
