Omg!!! I absolutely LOVE this girl!!! As someone who used to work in an institutional home for people with downs… she is so spot on!!! It used to be the norm back in the day institutionalize and sterilize downs people!! If only they would have been treated as equals… they are fully capable of being able to achieve so much!!
Used to work for ARC teaching various tbi's and downs syndrome patients life skills. Least amount of fiat and one of the most satisfying jobs I have ever had.
Fetal alcohol poisoning various things, but JUST the greatest to be in the company of. I am sure they taught me more than I ever taught them.
They’re lovely people!!! I enjoyed my working with them… such hard working and loyal… loving and forgiving.
I advocated to get a bunch of them off serious pharmakia and it was a blessing to see them blossom.
We put the F in fun always made sure they had the best time. When I was off work would still take them to church, load them up in the van, and off we went. lol
