#BREAKING UPS announces 12,000 job cuts, says package volume slipped last quarter

UPS fell short of Wall Street revenue estimates Tuesday, reporting drops in shipping volume, both internationally and domestically, in its fourth-quarter earnings report. The company also announced 12,000 layoffs as part of an effort to align resources in 2024.

The workforce reductions will save the company about $1 billion in costs, CEO Carol Tomé said on a company earnings call.

For the last several months, companies have been scaling back its workforces.

They are swinging everything to USPS, which sucks and giving a huge block of money to go to EV's, which will be a disaster.

Could UPS be effected by Amazon? If Amazon has the orders and not private companies, then UPS would not get the delivery.

But still there is something wrong about our economy. Here is the big red flag. If we are in a war state -- Ukraine, Middle East, and Yemen -- how come gas is going down? Gas is needed for every war effort . Gas should be sky high if we are engaged in military actions. But we are seeing a tremendous drop at the pump. What does that mean? Has our economy stalled and we haven't felt it yet?
