So if I were to pay, let's say $250,000 dollars into Social Security, and I died before receiving any of it, or very little, the heirs to that money is the government mafia, and not my family/next of kin?

When my dad passed away, SS took money out of my mom's bank account the following week and left her with nothing! She wrote to a senator and asked for help and finally got her money back. You should be able to continue to get your spouces SS until you pass away but NO, that's not how it works.
