And, I think they have found a way to do it by air born methods.

I had very healthy plants in my veg garden - but, VERY little produce this year.

2 qt of green beans, 3 gal tomatoes - that all required ripening on my window ledges, peppers with no seeds in them, strange cantaloupe mutants, 3 squash, no onions, no corn and some of my sunflowers were deformed (I plant those to keep the birds off everything else.

The only thing that did well were the potatoes.

For the last 6 years, I have canned up to 12 gallons of tomatoes, had 12 or 15 qt of green beans, we had 28 squash last year, and a dozen corn ears (I only plant a few rows as a wind break)

Did the plants flower? Bees around?

LOTS of pollinators.
We have masses of Russian Sage, to attract then.

Yes, everything flowered, it was as if the pollen itself was sterile
