Very good, thanks for posting.
I think that "adultery" might be symbolic of all sin.
In Jeremiah, God wants to separate from all His people, because of all the sins they have been committing. but Jeremiah weeps and sobs, asking God to have mercy.
Finally God does have mercy and agrees to take His people back if they agree to follow His law.
Jeremiah is called "the weeping prophet."
Perhaps Jeremiah is just another, but simpler version of how God forgives us, His people of Israel.
Where His people of Israel is inclusive of all people, as the Pastor in this video explains.
Lots to think about.
