Good for you. and dont take this wrong but..i find many vet techs have a God like attitude...much like the drs. I have had more fights with vet techs than anyone. Why I dont know.

No offense taken, I disagreed many times with the vets, but as a lowly tech, I went with system. To be honest, I am ashamed of some stuff I did, I cried many times. In hindsight, I would change ALOT of things, but I ALWAYS sat with loved animals we put down, even when owners couldm't do it

I always loved animals and thought about being a vet tech..then... I got sick..which led me down the rabbit hole into big pharma...thats when I felt disgusted at our medical system. NOW I loathe the medical system. Big pharma also killed my dog along with the help of my FORMER vet. She was my best friend..and I will hate that man forever. He was her vet for 13 yrs. He KNEW the love I had for her..but he was heartless in the end...

I have pondered how to respond to you for some time. It's hard to condemn a vet when I was guilty too. I HATED some of our "procedures" but was not a strong person to stand up, and couldn't anyway, because I was merely a lowly tech. I'm so sorry you had a heartless vet, some don't realize that an animal is NOT a pet, they are FAMILY!!! For some, that is the only children they have! Old or young, they deserve respect and compassion, in treating and in death. I live in a small town, with only 1 clinic, and since I realized that pharma equates early death, I have been refused grooming services and vet services. I have treated my dogs and cows with oregano as anitbiotic and garlic as wormer. I'm sorry for ranting, just don't know how to accurately say what is in my heart
oh that was well said. I dont fault you. you saw the light. you didnt know..dont feel guilty. but with everything coming out these days..the drs and techs should be waking up. i think it was more of the words he said to me that last visit that has me in shock. he was greedy, cold and jealous. a side of him i had never seen. he had said a few things to me i didnt like but i understood...he told me he didnt have time to spend with me cause he had surgeries to do. he was VERY busy with surgeries. thats his true passion. he was always good about including me in things though. BUT in the end...boy oh boy..he told me my dog was almost 25 and was gonna die. why would i spend $5000 on a surgery...*(that he wasnt going to do) and said he could do it. My dog had two fainting spells. bloodwork showed heart issues..he told me she didnt need any meds. sent us home. i called a couple days later requesting medicine. he never returned my call. my truck was broke down. cont--->

2)a week later at midnight i got it running..and the next morning back to the clinic but we saw a different vet. he said she was in bad shape and gave her 3-4 different heart meds to help her. in that one week before..she went down rapidly. if my vet had of given meds..she might have had a chance.He laughed and mocked me for thinking the clindamycin did it. How do i know it did? BECAUSE she had an ECHO done feb 8th. that same day specialist put her on it for long term until we could raise funds for surgery to remove pocket of fluid that kept getting infected without antibiotics and biopsy it to make sure no cancer. NONE of any tests showed cancer ever. ANYWAY when she was young she had Heartworms. it caused mild damage to her heart but she was never on medication. she always was fine. we checked her heart yearly and i had the ECHO done to make sure she was clear to handle surgery. --->

3) The specialist gave the all good for surgery. 2 1/2 months later she was DEAD. only thing she had was the clindamycin. Although RARE it can happen...and it did. it took out her heart. you dont die from chronic heart failure in 2-3 months. it usually takes yrs. ...and my asshole vet blamed it on her old age. BULLSHIT. we didnt know her true age. she could have been younger. but he already wrote her off as dead when all that time..him and the specialist said she was in good shape for her age. You tell me..dogs dont die if CHF in 2-3 months when they JUST had an ECHO done. NOPE not buying it . i am happy to know you and know you saw the light.. and yes oil of oregano is awesome. i did try that on her but her infection was severe when she was OFF the antibiotics. she had Sepsis in the beginning. she was doing good. She was getting the convenia shots cause she had a hard time with meds on her tummy. so we finally switched to the pills of clindamycin and thats when it took her out.
