From recently reading Jeremiah, my understanding is that God can be brutally angry if we disobey His laws, however, if we repent and give up our evil ways, He promises compassion, which is possibly thanks to Jeremiah's sobbing pleas on our behalf.

Justice Peacefully, Here is what happened to me, proving how good God is:
I've been thinking I have to get back to reading my Bible.
Two days ago, I finally took out my Bible and before I opened it. prayed for a reading,
Then thought, "Even though God has given me answers when I used ask for readings and open a random page, I don't think I deserve that Grace, now, because it has been so long."
But I prayed anyway and opened to Jeremiah where God is (beyond) furious.
But read that He finally has compassion.
I really know that this might be one of the most important readings God has ever given me.
How good is He, even when we are resistant or negligent of what He may want from us!
