Librarians are progressives. This has always been the case. Archivists are progressives and get the same graduate degree as librarians. I was a professor in a public university in that graduate program. There has always been a controversy over whether library science should require a master’s degree. It does in the US but not in other countries. Some do, most don’t. This argument here about porn for kids and who decides if it gets into school and public libraries is the reason the US requires a master’s degree for librarians. This was done to grant them unwarranted credibility and authority over children’s reading. They absolutely should not have that authority because they want to and do abuse it. Librarians invented and promote drag story hours, and now porn for kids. Think about the next step they will push for. This plan has been a long process and is now bearing rotten fruit. Do not trust librarians even if a few of them are conservative.
