🚤JFK's PT 109 was cut in half at night

🚤2 of his crew men were killed

🚤It took Kennedy nearly 3 hours, swimming
around in the dark, to gather the survivors
onto what was left of their PT Boat

💜His Engineer, Pappy McMahon, who was
wearing a life jacket, was badly burned and
in severe pain. After the boat sank, they had
to swim to an island about 3 miles away.
Kennedy cut a strap on McMahons life
jacket, put it in his teeth, told McMahon to
lay on his back and towed him to the island.
