Please pray for me. I cannot pay my debt this month (which is paid, except... interest) for the first time in years. Am selling what I can. This debt is half of my social security which is under $998. We know it's wrong and unfair, but I have stretched myself to the limit for years waiting on several things promised or hinted at out there. It's just not happening in time for me, and for many others.

Please Pray For Financial Miracles for strapped Seniors! We have put up with the Beast System for the longest, I know about it, but damned if I can do much about it at this point. Dept of Human and Health isn't interested in my debt and denied me assistance. The debt derives from where else, medical, and is on Discovercard.

Don’t pay it if it’s medical. Wait for them to sell the debt. Anyone who purchases the debt is owed nothing. And any debt for medical that’s not paid never goes against your credit.

Oh, you put it on a credit card? Then you owe it. Never put a large debt on a credit card. In this environment and being on social security you want them to sell the debt. You don’t owe debt collection companies anything. There’s no contract with a debt collection company.

And don’t forget..medical debts don’t go against your credit score and can not be held against you when other credit requests come up.

I have in my life refused to pay ONE debt. It was ridiculous and from a hospital. I lived this. I know.

This was from a dental clinic in 2017, put on my Discovercard. Since it's on the card now, and not a hospital, and has had other charges, is it still possible? I know one person who refused to pay and when getting a call about it, would tell them something to put them off, like "come get it." He eventually got it all lessened to about a third.

Accepting cash from kind strangers is last resort. Not too proud to do so. I was in the arts and worked as legal temp, so didn't make as much money, yet had four jobs occur in one day once upon a time! I definitely worked, and at 68 haven't been smart enough.

Thank you for this suggestion. Must figure this out. They did lessen the payment from $479/mo to $360/mo because I took a six-month plan at 9.99%. Then it goes back to 17.99%. I know it's illegal, this usury, but until just ONE miracle happens, this is going to be The Thing I must conquer.
