Statins cause excruciating joint pain.
I have told 3 drs now - "Prescribe all you want - I will NOT take statins."

They put me on them years ago..had to check my liver every 3 months to see the pills damaged my liver - red flag - they tried me on another pill & I could not walk 10 feet - red flag - I don't agree with anything they have to offer
I am now with a dr who does not try to brow beat me into submission...
My bloodwork is perfect, has been for years - except for high cholesterol - I even got my vit D to go up, by changing my annual visit from Feb to May. (I am outside a lot when the weather is good).
We are not all the same, so, no one size fits all treatment is effective... I think he is starting to see that.

I found a new doctor that does not threaten me with my thyroid medicine (if you don't agree with the test I want to run then I can not help you-it took me a second to fire his &&&) If I don't want to have test she is fine with that...thing is I did have a lot of test run in 2020 & they could not find a thing wrong with me so they tried to invent one-so I fired them too....I think we might have close to the same results...higher bad cholesterol-but too bad....

Remember when cholesterol was done as a ratio of good and bad cholesterol?
My ratio is ok - its all about how they chose to identify the 'issue'. Now, they ONLY look at the 'bad cholesterol' numbers.
