Rough night ya'll. Need some prayers for my best doggy in the world Angel.

She woke me up about 2am sick. She really scared me, thought I was gonna lose her. Idk what it was but it seemed like a stroke or something. She wasnt having seizures, I know what that looks like in dogs, but she couldn't walk and was having tremors.

After a couple hours she got up and felt better and this morning still seems very close to normal.
Have an appt with the vet in a bit.

She is the best dog I have ever had and was a rescue at 2yrs old. She was scared too, I could see in her eyes she did not understand what was happening.

She seems better so hoping she will be ok.

I would be interested in the dosage of ivermectin for dogs.

The standard dose of Panacur for dogs is 22.7 mg per pound of body weight. It should be given once daily for anywhere from three to seven days consecutively, and a second round of treatment may be prescribed to be given again two weeks later. You should never skip days, miss doses, or stop treatment altogether without speaking to your veterinarian first. This could result in insufficient treatment of the intestinal parasites.

Quite a few of the doses listed for generic ivermectin on the internet are absurd and the label on the most common heartworm preventative is only 0.006 mg/kg. Since ivermectin is sold at 1%, or 10mg/cc, a 20 kg dog needs less than 0.05cc. Even when you are giving the dose to a big dog, the ivermectin dose is so low that it needs to be drawn up with an insulin (diabetes) syringe.
