Today is payday I went to buy groceries as soon as I saw this. (I only buy groceries on payday and am out of food by the time rolls around so I was empty on several important things. dairy + fresh fruits
I don't want to starve during a lockdown.
It's crazy how much isn't at the stores - so many items not available.
Scary times.
Hard to stock up when living paycheck to paycheck.
Even harder to save for emergencies.
Yes. working for uncle sam doesn't pay enough to have a savings account or emergencies like a flat tire, especially with how expensive everything has become in last couple years.
I am extremely frugal: wash and reuse ziplock bags and aluminum foil, buy in bulk when I can and break into single-serving sizes, I stopped buying fresh broccoli because it goes bad so fast, and now I get frozen so it lasts longer. I will roast a chicken breast and only 1/2 so it goes for two nights' dinners.
I never eat out ever. No candy, sweets, or nut oils. I don't drive except to grocery store or work. My 2015 car only has 50k miles - gas is too expensive.
Watch tv on antenna; cable costs too much.
