I didn't take the polio vax but nearly everyone I went to school with did. I just didn't tell anybody. My mom tried to bribe me unsuccessfully.

I even knew two polio survivors one just used a crutch and the other limped and needed a cane later. It was not so scary and my siblings knew them and never had the vax or caught polio from them. Wasn't it DDT farm spray?
