You are taking too little. The bottle suggests 6 capsules per day with meals at total 3,750 mg, so each capsule is 625 mg. I started low too and tried different types of magnesium. Malate works best for me. Citrate is not recommended but is most commonly used. Apparently it messes with mineral absorption. I also take Threonate in addition to malate. It’s not too much and it affects so much in the body.
