I told my doctor to shove it when she suggested formula over me nursing and quickly found a new doctor who supported nursing. Many practices are in bed with the formula companies. Many women give up on nursing their babies because a doctor told them they didnt have an adequate milk supply instead of providing the education to support a nursing mother.

I cannot help but wonder if this unquestioning allegiance to the 'doctor' and pharmacist has its roots in Catholic teachings>?
