Dear Kat, the Lord is the smartest of all. Why foes he allow the worst suffering is an age old question and often the conclusion is that He does not exist, He approves of punishment, He is not in control, etc. None of that is true because God is Love itself. He punishes no one, people punish each other and themselves and always have done. What would free will mean if He stepped in and made people be good? He could do it but people would be robots running a god program. He needs us to choose His precepts and Him every moment so we can regenerate to live with Him in the Kingdom of Heaven. Did not our grandmothers say that out of bad God brings good? There is a reason for everything? The pain and suffering of others is heartbreaking and we must help, that too is a choice for good. He needs is to learn to respond in goodness. For some it is easy, for others hard. They need to see us respond in goodness. The Lord is Omnipotent and Intrust His judgement in all things.
The life of the body is brief, eternity is our greatest goal. 🙏😇
