Why do we have to put in old password to make a new one? If I remembered my old one I wouldn’t need a new one!

Most places they send a code to your email address.
it sent me a reset but not a code and to reset it you have to put in current password. Accidently cleared the cookies off my phone.

Mine just says new password twice to confirm. I guess yours is different.
