I feel bad for what I've seen recently with a certain vet who is struggling.
Lately too, any post about the hurt children is really starting to make me feel sick. It always made me feel sick, but it's getting stuck in my head. Before it would make me upset but i could cope somehow and move on. Now what i read/see just stays on a loop in my brain where i feel like i'm going crazy.
I have to call on Jesus to clear my head. We weren't meant to deal with this level of evil and cruelty. i know that's selfish to say when there are real kids enduring it, but I'm just saying how it is. Nothing like this ever factored into my life nor my consciousness, i think after a while it can break you, and i haven't had the easiest life always, but i'm having trouble dealing with that reality too.

I have been dealing with this for several years. What helps me the most is finding a project to give back with no expectations. Saving the books they are disappearing is one such project (I have a few). If you are a people person, maybe volunteering with the elderly or reading to someone in a LTC facility or walking dogs at the shelter, something that will redirect your focus to an activity where you can make a difference that impacts the quality of life for someone or an animal and you can start to build back your reserves. Others have mentioned how the enemy tries to wear you down rather than open combat; I think this is true and why we have to serve sometimes in areas where we are left alone so to speak. Many service activities have politics involved with the people running the ship; just avoid that part. I focus on the one person or animal that I can make a difference to.
