Why are Texas towns named like this? πŸΈπŸ‘€

I haven't been many times in the US, but looking at the maps, some of the location names always seemed quite odd to me. For example, why is there a place called Palestine in the USA? UK map names are somewhat weird as well because of different base languages.

Many of the old town names here in Finland have been changed. There was a village that carried my real family name (it's not in my screen name) or we were named after the village, but it's been renamed afterwards.

No idea what's the deal with Texas towns.
