I originally heard this as
"Our Grandfathers came from the desert; Our Fathers knew the desert; We have forgotten the desert; Our children will return to the desert."
It is a good reminder of generational cycles of destruction ... hopefully we've all learned enough to break this cycle and change the pattern.
