Good afternoon Fan. Question about a friend who has addiction issues and onset of early dimentia. Are there any addiction/abuse treatment counselors online (I'm in a small town) who might be able to help her? I'm adultsitting her tonight because her husband is abusive and she told him to leave on a temp separation. And, is it best I let her hit bottom, without me engagine? Last night she said she wanted to kill herself and I called the police and they would have taken her somewhere, I don't know where, but she asked if someone could stay with her instead. She called me and a mututal friend of ours and that friend stayed the night with her. Any suggestions?

Heavy. This is way beyond my rank but my first instinct would be to leave it to a professional though I'm not sure who that would be. Sending prayers.

The friend that stayed the night found 30 liquor bottles and probably more is hidden in bedrooms. We are going to present a united front this a.m. and tell her she needs to get help and one of us will call the crisis line if she doesn't agree to detox. Thank you for your prayers.

An intervention sounds like a good plan. I know that some people are really struggling out there. I wish your friend the best.
