The majority of people won't say jack publicly, so it's hard to say what's going on.

The majority will also wait and hope that things boil over, and pass, others have no problem w/ the status quo as long as it's in their favor; and the minority won't say squat because 'what's the use.'

Because the last group is the minority, a visual physical, vocal, and in-your-face populace is a dream- for now.

AS Stalin said, this is the way to rule the people. Did you see how that chicken followed me for food, even though I had caused it such torture? People are like that chicken. If you inflict inordinate pain on them they will follow you for food the rest of their lives.
