When you sign a tax return you're agreeing to pay income tax for that year. If you don't file a return you're basically opting out of the scam. How sad that Americans are willingly handing over 25% of their hard earned paycheck to fund an illegal system that supports our corrupt government.
I came to this conclusion while driving on a street that was literally one big pothole. "Where do my gas taxes go?" I asked myself. The fact that California has the highest gas tax in America AND the worst roads suddenly put everything into focus. Taxes don't benefit anyone except the politicians, who vote to raise them as often as they can get away with it. Every dollar we pay eventually ends up in their pockets.
