Any of these apps that use funny face filters may be or are collecting facial data to drive facial recognition tech.
Also, there are addictive components built in to Tik Tok. This is not a secret.
While I'll never be against free speech, it's like any other tech we struggle with as humans-is it being used responsibly. Or not.
