As many of the "gang leaders" told everyone - we didn't have the money to buy that shit... we just broke in and took them.
That's when Cali law enforcement went from protecting citizens - to the war on the hoods. It gave them the validation to adopt and use the lastest in assault technology and that was when the salary of the captain (or was it sheriff ) regardless - hit a cool 1M$ a year.
That's when I bugged outta Cali ... and kept my home for over a decade not living there (owned) waiting for it to get better - it never did. I then dumped it.
