Tessa Capeloto, an attorney who specializes in FARA work for Wiley Rein LLP, said it’s becoming more common for people to register under the act. She also said the DOJ has become more proactive in contacting people who may need to register but are not currently.

Yes, absolutely. Desantis is my gov (Trump is my pres).
But this whole thing is so weird. The DOJ is insisting that forms are to be filled out to identify as a foreign agent, which I think formerly working for someone linked to Ukraine is important to know due to the war there, but on the other hand, it is so obviously seeing the DOJ attacking Desantis via one of his employees.
It seems like an odd balance for the DOJ to target someone on Desantis' team, but the DOJ does political hits all the time now.
Just feels so odd. I don't totally understand it all.
Everything just seems backwards right now.
