I bet it was interesting around Great Falls. They don't maintain the airstrip at Malmstrom AFB, but C-130's fly out of the international air port. The silo crews for the region are dispatched from Great Falls. And, nope, that's not a big secret as many would have you think.
I'm about 3 hours from the incident whatever it was this evening. Occasionally we get a visit from a C-130 doing training touch-and-gos but not lately. It has been a bit Chinook-y and that usually only happens for wild fire assist. So that is a bit outside of the norm.
I don't know how many C-130's are currently down for maintenance. Again, not a big secret.
