It appears that DAN may be using plausible deniability. The first answer could have been the truth, but the next time you asked, it changed.
Actually, I asked a different question. The first answer is based on what data is stored on the OpenAI database behind ChatGPT tied to individuals named Vincent Kennedy and Elon Musk. The second question is about two Twitter accounts. Currently ChatGPT has no access to the Internet or to Social Media. If your prompt tells DAN to pretend it has access to the Internet, it will comply with an answer that may seem factual, but, is in fact, made up by the AI. “Watch who you follow” can be applied to AI answers as well. What is stated as fact may seem plausible and may be very entertaining, but, that doesn’t mean it’s true.
VK mentioned DAN was truthful in the beginning but they changed algorithms so you are right.
The prompt is everything. If you tell DAN to pretend he has access to the Internet or to make information up, the AI will comply. Also, again, DAN did not change ‘his’ answer, I asked two different questions, so the wording and phrasing of the question matters. Asking about Twitter accounts is not the same as asking about individual people. DAN has no access to the Internet and social media unless your prompt tells ‘him’ to pretend to, with pretend being the operative word. If you want to trust DAN, I can’t stop you, but, you will never convince me to trust either DAN or ChatGPT — lies of commission and omission are both lies. Take care.
