It would be interesting to dig in a little farther on where Orthodox Christianity plays into all of this? When ready the daily lives of the Saints there are stories during the Liturgical Year of the Tartars being enemies of the Christians and at war with them. Now the word “Tartar” could be referring to something different. But it would be interesting to know.
