also with a call coming in for a hostage situation being that the speaker of the house husband was being held up with a weapon I dont think the cops wpuld have just walked up calmly to the door and knocked much less just stand there when the alleged intruder let him open the door. They would have had the place surrounded and a negotiator would have been called in to talk the person down.
