It looks like the flash is being used as a scapegoat.
Something bigger is happening quietly. We likely won't know for days or weeks what happened between 4-8:00 this morning.

Ben Davidson has been very consistent with his daily reporting of sun spot activity. Even if his catastrophism theory is not correct, his monitoring of the various sources of sun data is similar to Monkeyworks with aviation.
