I did this last year. A friend of mine from my AF days and we picked up where we left off without skipping a beat!
Those are the friends for life. I know that no matter what, I would lay down my life for hers and visa versa.
She is fighting PTSD from multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, but she hasn’t lost that fighting spirit.
