How does the vote for Speaker of the House work (I am Canadian) - what percentage of the total votes does a nominee have to win in order to become the Speaker?
In terms of plain numbers, it appears as though the Communist - er, I mean, the “Demoncrat” (Jeffries) has won?
The House will keep voting until a Representative has the majority of 434 votes.

Thank you for the answer! I actually knew that it is quite possible for the Speaker to be from the party that holds the majority of seats in the House, I just wasn’t sure about the number of votes needed. 😀
