“Conception” in itself is a major heresy. The word everyone seems to be missing is “incarnated”. There was no conception.

In Revelation 12:1-6 the Apostle John is presenting something of great significance in a symbolic way. The date of September 11, 3 BC was Tishri 1 on the Jewish calendar in 3 BC. Tishri 1 is, of course, the 1st day of the first Jewish month. This date is also called Yom Teruah: The Day of Trumpets; the Feast of Trumpets; and Rosh Hashanah: Head of the Year, or Feast of the New Year.

From the Nicene Creed, which is called “The Statement of Faith” by the Orthodox Christian Church. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the history of Christianity (as in The Church) or the Ecumenical Councils, but long before the Great Schism of 1054 (the division of the Church) the Nicene Creed was the agreed upon doctrine. From the Creed:
“And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages. Light of Light; true God of true God; begotten not made; of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made:
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man.”
There’s a trove of theology in those two paragraphs.

The word “incarnate” is so important because it signifies God “coming down” from heaven.
We Orthodox also steadfastly believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man. We don’t budge on that and will never budge on that.

We don’t budge on Jesus being fully God and fully Man.
Papal Supremacy was one of the factors, the other was the Roman Catholics and the “Filioque Clause” (spelling) of the Nicene Creed. The Roman Catholics changed the wording of the Creed and the Orthodox keep everything the same from the Ecumenical Councils.
*I was cradle Roman Catholic, and am an Orthodox convert.
The fully God fully Man was more of a “swipe” at our Protestant friends out there who can’t seem to figure out what Jesus “is”.

Now think about how far the world has gone since. The split in 1054 started Roman Catholicism, then from Roman Catholicism came the Protestant “Reformation”. I use that word in quotes because Martin Luther, on his own power (mind / intellect) decided HE would be the person to “reform” what God had left for us. All that did was give man license to interpret God with his own mind (outside The Church) which has lead to 25,000+ different denominations of Protestantism, and people doing “Bible Studies” in their homes. The simple solution would be to revert back to Orthodoxy, but alas, the devil gets in and tell us we’re better thinkers than God. Meanwhile in 2023 people wonder why we have problems.
