I used to work tech as a stand in for actors on a lot of sets. From this perspective it looks as if Abe and the Civilian are listening to someone, like they are taking directions from a director. The Soldier looks like he is standing in for anothera camera. Many sets that I worked on had a photogropher on set to take still shots for various reasons like having a photo copy of the set in case you have to use it again.
