There is a local appliance store that has a Sat morning spot on an FM station; the reps basically say: Don't expect appliances to last as long as they used to because there are so many regulations. I say "Bunk" ... they are not made to last, by design.
We were w/o a dishwasher for about 4 years; I wish I didn't buy the new one -- it takes so long & it's easier to just do the dishes as we go.
My new "smart" washer is the same way! Unless I choose quick wash, which I rarely ever do, it takes like an hour and twenty minutes!
