Culinary Faux Pas Department: Mistaking the sugar for the salt when making mashed potatoes.
HAHAHAHA - Thank you for this! What ended up happening was that the potatoes were used in a cake batter; added more milk and a bit more flour and it turned out to be a decent cake; interesting texture; rather like a pound cake.
I had a bunch of sweet potato casserole (kind with marshmallows) leftover from Tday, I made a gingerbread bundt cake with it next day and it was probably the most moist and delish cake I've ever made!

Make some mashed potatoes, using 2 medium sized potatoes. When you make them, add a bit of extra butter, and put in 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons sugar. (I have tweaked the amounts) Then take a yellow cake mix, make it according to directions, and add just a bit of extra milk, butter, and cake flour. Add some Vanilla extract, if you like. Add the mashed potatoes, mix well, and bake in a Bundt pan at 350 degrees, and test to see when cake is done at about 40 minutes.
You can play with the proportions of ingredients, including the number of eggs and amount of milk and butter to get different textures of cake. Enjoy the experimenting!
