If you've got them in the yard, it means your yard is pretty clean of chemicals. Butterflies and skinks, too.
These "ladybugs" can also take over a dry, unused spot, and return year after year. We had them in a disused old cabin we bought, and rather than spray/kill, concocted a mix of essential oils, powders and diatomaceous earth to convince them to find another spot.
