Video games, fantasy sports, writing letters, and simply reading are other accessible ways to keep your brain active.

Gardening is just one example of a hobby that's beneficial in stimulating your mind.

Scientists believe the "educated brain" may possess a greater reserve of cognitive ability.

The most beneficial activities, experts say, may be those that challenge your brain in entirely new ways. Perfect example: learning a musical instrument.
