Essentially putting on the full armor of God means we repent, reform, do right and good, love God above all else and love the neightbor at least as much as self, if not more. This is the full armor of God and we do it daily or often throughout the day and night. Waking up at night provides another opportunity to repent, give thanks to God, and worship Him. That is putting on the full armor of God.
