call your election supervisor office and ask them. I would put in a complaint if I were you, if they are supposed to use black pen then it won't pick up sharpies, and that means they will adjudicate your vote.
In Florida we use black pen, and I would contact the election police in Florida if that happened to me. But I don't know about where you live orwhat they do.
